On Wednesday April 6th 1994, the Memorial Day for the Holocaust victims, on 12:10 pm the bus going from Afula to Migdal Haemeq stopped at his bus stop on Hachativa Tesha street in Afula to pick passengers.

Amongst the passengers were school students that just came out of school on their way home.

 

A suicide terrorist driving a car bomb with tens of Kilos of explosives stopped in front of the bus and exploded. As a result of the explosion the front of the bus went in flames.

 

In the terrible blast seven people were killed on spot, Tens were wounded. Another wounded died after 20 days.

Asher Atia, 48 years old was the bus driver and is commemorated in the Egged central station in Afula where he worked.
