On Sunday, August 5th, 2001, while the Bloomberg family were on their way home, on the road from Alfei Menashe to Karnei Shomron near the village of Azun, terrorists opened fire from a passing car.
Techiya, aged 39, her husband and her daughter Tzipi, were all badly wounded. Techiya died later in the hospital.
She was five months pregnant.
