On March 21st, 1948, an Arab terrorist dressed in European suit entered a truck into the “Solel Bone” yard in the Harbor street in downtown Haifa.

Haim Graf, 21 years old and his friend Mordechai Komornik, 46 , both “Solel Bone” guards, saw smoke coming out of the truck and understood that it is a car bomb waiting to explode any minute. In order to save as many lives as possible they started pushing the car away and continued till it exploded killing both of them.

Moshe Plosker, 37 years old, a transportation guard who came into town with an armored car parked it in the harbor near the “Solel Bone” yard. Suddenly he heard the cry “a car bombin the yard”, being experienced with explosives from his time in the British army during world war II, ran towards the truck in attempt to cut the fuse. Before he reached the truck it exploded and he was killed.
