On Saturday eve 2nd of May 1980 around 7 pm a group of people came out from prayers at the Ma'arat HaMachpela in Hebron walking towards Beit Hadasa. As they almost arrived in Beit Hadasa shots were fired from Hebron houses from three directions. Six people were killed, sixteen wounded.
On January 31st, 1980, Yehoshua Saluma, 23 years old, was walking in the Kasbah in Hebron. An Arab terrorist shot him to death.
His friends built a Cairn in his memory at the place he was shot. The Cairn was destroyed by the Arabs living there.
