On Wednesday, October 26th 2005, A suicide terrorist exploded in the Hadera market near the Falafel stand in the corner of Herbert Samuel and Rothchild streets.
Tens were wounded and five killed on spot. Another woman, Genia Polies that was wounded in the attack died after two weeks.
On October 2010, on the five years memorial of the attack, the commemoration that was erected in the new market was unveiled.
