During the riots of 1938, on July 20th 1938, a large group of Arab terrorists attacked Kiriyat Haroshet, they arrived at the Guterman family house while the family was sitting “Shivaa” on their son who died from a disease.
The terrorists broke into the house shooting and stabbing the father Shmuel, 38 years old, his wife Lea, 34, and their baby girl Bilha who was only 19 months old. The terrorists torched the house who burnt to the ground.
The terrorists then continued to the nearby house of the Shpigler family, The mother Rivka, 34, was killed on spot and her son Yaakov, 12 years old was wounded and died later that day.
