On March 7th, 2002, a terrorist entered the school area in Atzmona settlement, he noticed a small building with an open window, from the window he could hear music, he threw a grenade into the room and moved towards the study center, in the room a fire started and two students who were there were injured. Arik Krogliak, 18 and a half years was burnt, he could only be identified by his DNA.
Arik friend Eran Pikar was badly wounded and died in the hospital later that night. Three other students were killed in this attack.
