On June 3rd, 1928, Shlomo Argov, Israel’s ambassador to the UK, finished a dinner meeting in Dorchester Hotel in Park lane and walked to his car. Three terrorists from the Abu Nidal Organization ambushed him and shot his in the street. Ambassador Argov was critically wounded and was left totally paralyzed.
Ambassador Argov died after 21 years in Hospital.
After the assassination Israel Bombed Beirut and the PLO responded in bombing the northern Israel cities which started the first Lebanon war.
A street in Jerusalem was named after Ambassador Argov.
