On January 6th, 1972, 24-year-old Yosef Gruber was at his job as a construction supervisor. He was going along the border road on the Golan Heights to supervise the build up of bunkers in the area. Near Roked creek, near Ramat Magshimim, a few terrorists coming across the Syrian border opened fire at Yosef and he was killed.


The terrorists took off Yosef’s head and took it with them back to Syria.
