On November 25th, 1987, two terrorists from Achmed Gibril organizations penetrated Israel using air glides. One of the two landed by mistake near Kefar Yuval, 300 meters into the safety zone and was killed by IDF force.
The second landed near the heliport in Kiryat Shmona. He opened fire on an IDF pickup truck, killing its driver Lieutenant Liron Pnini, 22, and wounding another soldier.
The terrorist then continued to a nearby small camp where the soldiers were in tents, he opened fire and threw grenades killing 5 more and wounding 7, he was killed by the unit quartermaster Gideon Bashari.
